Don’t forget the little people
Though it seems that mostly ranting about egregious acts against humanity–whether motivated by politics, religion or music–is very much in style, I wanted to take a different tack, if but for a moment. I thought I would touch on the more human side of things, and point out some cool shit that’s out on the internet.
With apologies to Jay Dedman, whose blog momentshowing.net really introduces what I will just be briefly touching on, there are some incredibly awesome videoblogs out there. If you’ve been reading this blog, hopefully you have been inspired enough by our poor grammar and simplistic arguments to seek out better writers and pundits on their own blogs. The only entry for anyone to tell a story or have an opinion is access to a computer and the internet. In the case of video blogs, it’s just the same, though the only extra barrier of entry is that you’ll need a video camera.
If you haven’t been struck by how incredibly awesome this can be, perhaps you should stop reading now. The Harry Potters, Dave Barrys and Calvin & Hobbes are few and far between, but then that’s not even the point. I sure as hell wouldn’t pay money for Adam’s opinion, I don’t think I’d even pick it up off the sidewalk most of the time (don’t even ask about the levels I’d stoop to to avoid my prose). But there is the potential for him to kick ass sometimes, and it’s wicked cool that he has the chance when he does.
But back to what I wanted let the readers of this blog know about was video blogs, and how they are just as entertaining as your usual blog, but they can convey information so much differently (no better or worse) than the written blog.
I included some of what I first watched from Jay’s blog (he can really seperate the wheat from the chaff) and hopefully you’ll check out the rest. There is also the cool program FireANT that will automatically pull new content and download it to your computer.
- Three kid’s from across the country play some good music
- A guy smokes out, and it’s more compelling than anything I’ve seen on TV in way too long
- Jay himself gets to the point better than I ever could. Jessica loves his cat too.
But don’t take my word for it…

What?? My blog doesn’t get a shout out? I guess it’s not serious enough for atomic cafe.
